Goodbye 2008.....hello 2009!

I may be one of the last people on earth to do this but....here are my reflections as well as thoughts on 2008. While it was much better than 2007 (nothing could be as shitty as 2007), it very much had it's moments where I just looked up in the sky and went "c'mon.....WTF." Since I love making lists.....here was the bad of 2008.

1. Dealt with the insurance company trying to replace everything for a few months.....they didnt want to pay me.
2. Got my car broken into in the middle of the night
3. Developed slight road rage.....2+ hr commute round trip to work...
4. I quit basketball (retired from playing in leagues) for a while bc i felt like I didnt enjoy it anymore
5. Lost a paid of my favorite 150 dollar pair of shoes
6. hung out with way too many asians to pass the time
7. threw out my back....lingering problems ever since
8. missed Austin a little...
9. For the first time in my life...i realized that my parents arent invincible
10. 1, 2 or a few (alot) of random car problems
11. spun out on the way to austin and ending up 50 yards in the middle of the field. luckily i missed all cars, poles and no railings....aka...i escaped death
12. Saw most of my savings drained bc I wanted to be a homeowner (this could be construed as a good thing but damn....all my paper yo!)
13. Hurricane Ike and all the troubles.....was out of house and home for a couple weeks.
14. Lost my iphone once....and broke my iphone another time!....c'mon....WTF?!
15. Having times where I'm emo...

Damn with the bad and on with the good...

1. I moved back to Houston on a whim...
2. I finally become a homeowner and own a bad ass condo
3. Roxie finally became a good dog!
4. I finally felt like I found closure from my last relationship
5. Finally went back to Vegas!
6. Had my whole family together for Thanksgiving and Christmas for the first time in a very long time.
7. I met someone who is special to me who also makes me smile :)
8. I can now run 3 miles outside without stopping (when my back doesnt tighten up)
9. got myself a tattoo......I'm now 36% edgy
10. Had a few first kisses but only one of them stood out
11. My infatuation with red velvet cupcakes
12. Had some instances where I learned what I was really made of
13. made new friends, other friends became better friends
14. made good on my 2008 new years resolutions!
15. Barack Obama...
16. My sister got engaged xmas day!
17. Possibly the best new years eve I've ever had

Now at first glance it seems like the positives definitely outweighed the negatives in my opinion. But like I mentioned earlier...I'm comparing 2008 to 2007....and in that case it's a landslide victory for the '08. As for 2009, I decided not to use my imagination to create any resolutions even though I kept all mine for 2008. William is going to let fate run its course and see what happens (as well as talk in third person). I have good reason to believe 2009 will be an incredible year for me. I've heard people say that the way you spend your new year is the way the year is going to play out. And since I mentioned that this new years was by far my best ever...I'm all set....2009 is the year of Will-I-Am!
